"Nay, time does not tarry ever... The passing seasons are but ripples ever repeated in the long long stream. Yet beneath the sun all things must wear to an end at last."
-Legolas, The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring
the space
This is my writing space. It is here for me alone, but I hope any wanderers who arrive here enjoy the view.
I created this haven to escape; out and up through the clouds into the shining silver skyscape of imagination. I have always relied on books, stories, and daydreams to defect into the ever more glorious worlds great minds have created. Someday I hope to create my own world and share it with the whole world that they may join me; this is only the beginning.
If you find yourself curious about who I am, I'm sorry to disappoint you: I won't say for a long long time. I hope you will come to know and love me through my writing alone.
the name
"Time does not tarry ever" is part of a quote from Legolas in The Fellowship of the Ring, just after the Fellowship leaves Lothlórien.
I titled my writing space after this quote as a reminder to myself that time waits for no one - especially me. I've put off creating my world for fear that it would grow, flourish, wither, and die with the world none the wiser. But that doesn't matter. Perhaps my words will only be as "ripples ever repeated in the long long stream," but they may also become the waves that sparkle as they wash up on the sand. Only time will tell.
